Belgian Tiger

This is a half-an-hour painting I did, which turned out incredibly well. Why is it that when I try to paint, it turns out so-so, and then when I don’t try, and turns out wonderfully? IMG_0264 - Copy

  1. Something I’ve noticed with my creative process – the more thought I put into a piece, the more muddled it can become with expectation. If Ii just create for the sake of creating and churn something out without a moment’s thought, it’s more organic and Ii don’t spend time looking at it every half an hour and finding something to fix! I’m a lover of those five minute to half an hour paintings and other works of art.

  2. Very true! I tend to enjoy myself a lot more as well, when I’m not trying so hard to be a perfectionist.
